- (3/26/1483 Urbino-4/6/1520 Rome) (Italy); aka Raffaello, SanzioPainter, sculptor, draughtsman, and architect. One of the most significant painters of the High Renaissance. Best known for his images of the Madonna and Child. However, he did produce works based on classical themes, such as "Faun and Nymph."
